While attending Law School in Detroit, Steve Powers encountered Jesus and his life changed from that point on. The Lord redirected his steps and he pursued the call into ministry. Pastor Steve received his Masters of Divinity degree at Trinity Evangelical School in Deerfield, Illinois. After pastoring in Michigan for 11 years, he began to feel burden for the city of Jacksonville and knew that he had a destiny and purpose to fulfill there. Pastor Steve came on staff at FCF in February 2006. Pastor Steve has continued his education and is currently working towards his doctorate through Assemblies of God Theological Seminary.
Pastor Karyn took on the role of Teaching Pastor at Freedom after God supernaturally brought her and Pastor Steve together after both losing their spouses to cancer. Previously, Karyn served as Co-Pastor of Lake Michigan Christian Center with her late husband Larry for 30 years. She is a seasoned, Ordained Minister and trained equipper who has helped hundreds of individuals discover, develop and demonstrate their gifting's. With a delivery that is not only thought provoking but also entertaining, Pastor Karyn will challenge you and open your eyes to seeing biblical truths in a new light.
As a businesswoman, living in Brooklyn, New York, Margie never imagined herself doing anything else. But in 2008, the Lord pressed on her heart to move from New York to Jacksonville, with her husband Jerry and three children, where a new chapter of their lives would begin to unfold. Little did they know what all God had in store for them in Jacksonville. In 2012, Margie began serving as FCF’s Children's Pastor and found her true calling in life. She is passionate about seeing children form a true relationship with their creator and teaches them to be bold in their faith. She is a blessing to any family who has kids sitting under her unique teaching style.

Michelle and her husband Juan were living in Reading, Pennsylvania when they were called to Jacksonville in 2005. God opened doors for them immediately to serve in different areas of ministry being led to FCF. Together they both pursued there education through the District School of Ministry and soon after, Michelle was welcomed to the FCF staff as the Young Adults Pastor. Michelle has a heart for the lost and reaching those in need.
