Thanks-giving Sunday
This service focused on gratitude isn't just a once-a-year holiday sentiment—it's a daily posture of the heart. Drawing from Psalm 34, we're challenged to bless the Lord at all times, with His praise continually in our mouths. The remarkable story of Paul and Silas in Acts 16 becomes our blueprint for authentic faith: beaten, bloodied, and imprisoned for preaching Jesus, they chose to sing praises at midnight instead of demanding justice or wallowing in despair. What's profound is that other prisoners were listening—people are always watching how we respond to trials. When we praise God in our darkest moments, not because we feel like it but because He is worthy, supernatural breakthrough happens. Prison doors swing open, chains fall off, and hardened hearts cry out for salvation. The jailer's desperate question, 'What must I do to be saved?' led to the promise that extends to us today: believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, you and your household. This isn't about denying our pain; it's about declaring God's goodness above our circumstances. When we maintain a posture of praise through adversity, we're not just surviving—we're positioning ourselves and our families for miraculous intervention.
